Job Description

About the Role

In this role you will lead the execution and continuous improvement of space planning strategies to support merchandising, capacity optimization, and in-store execution across Kohl’s stores.  This leader will drive alignment between enterprise strategies and in-store execution while developing a high-performing team.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead space planning strategies that support Kohl’s merchandising vision, driving sales productivity, profitability, and a compelling customer experience across all store formats

  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and optimization of planograms and floorplans, ensuring alignment with merchandise presentation standards and category strategies

  • Analyze reporting and validation tools to ensure planogram accuracy and identify opportunities to improve space productivity

  • Own end-to-end planogram lifecycle, including timelines, cross-functional reviews, approvals and updates prior to store communication

  • Prioritize work, delegate effectively and manage team workload across multiple planogram and floorplan initiatives

  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships and influence decisions through data, insights, and clear communication

  • Support line reviews, new product launches, department resets, and mock store sets

  • Provide leadership support during peak periods and high-impact initiatives

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for space planning systems, tools, and processes, driving consistency and best practices across the team

  • Lead onboarding, training, and development of team members 

  • Additional tasks may be assigned

What Skills You Have

Required

  • Expertise with space management and planogram software, including Blue Yonder Space and Floorplanning

  • Proven experience leading and developing high performing teams, including coaching, performance management and talent development

  • Strong understanding of space-to-sales analytics and data-driven merchandising decisions

  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and align teams on business priorities

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to stores or mock store environments

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, Analytics, or related field

  • Experience in large-format or multi-unit retail environments

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or SketchUp

  • Advanced Excel skills (ex. pivot tables, data analysis)
