What you will be doing:
The AVP of Clinical Trial Innovations (CTI) will collaborate on creating the vision of and oversee the business strategy and team leadership for clinical trials conducted by Premier, Inc. on behalf of study sponsors. This leader provides business direction within the Premier Applied Sciences leadership team while mentoring and developing direct reports aligned with Clinical Trials Innovations (CTI) initiatives. These initiatives include protocol modeling and feasibility reviews, study site identification, screening, engagement, and feasibility, as well as subject/patient identification leveraging Premier’s advanced analytics capabilities on both structured and unstructured healthcare datasets. This individual will assume primary responsibility for project design, execution, and maintenance, consulting internal resources and external stakeholders
This individual has the deep experience in skills and understanding of how clinical research is conducted from the sponsor, site, and clinical trial vendor perspectives. In addition, the leader is knowledgeable in the use of technology to enhance operational conduct of clinical studies for study participants, healthcare partners, and study sponsors. The AVP of CTI will leverage Premier data and technology assets for trial recruitment, study conduct and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility #1 – 30%
Operations & Business Development
In collaboration with the business development team, strategically drive client discussions
Translate stakeholder objectives into research opportunities
Establish research agenda and determine, organize, and prioritize projects
Ensures scientifically valid and feasible project outcomes
Ensure that data and deliverables meet internal and external clients’ expectations
Responsibility #2 – 35%
Develop and Lead Clinical Trial Business Strategy, Solution Design and Leadership over projects
Collaboratively create 5-year strategic plan to grow and evolve Clinical Trial Innovations
Develop increased capabilities in clinical trials delivery, from recruitment to trial execution
•Support the design of Clinical Trial Innovations solutions based on client needs including development of framework, strategic outlook, client needs and future technologies
Protocol modeling and feasibility reviews
Identify sites through screening, engagement, and feasibility
Identification of subject/patients leveraging Premier’s advanced analytics capabilities
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Track content deliverables and scope of work
Lead and create content deliverables and project scope
Sponsor engagement on funded projects
Coordination with Client Success team on overall project success and customer satisfaction
Responsibility #3 – 35%
Team Leadership: Leadership, team, and operational management
Develop increased capabilities in clinical trials, from site and patient recruitment to study execution
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Facilitate talent acquisition, development, succession, retention process
Performance management, coaching, development of staff
Build and lead the team of staff that can support and deliver to the goals and the vision for the group and the division
Train team and supporting staff on industry best practices, improvement science, and professional standards
Communicate and administer corporate, Performance Services segment, and departmental policies and SOPs
Facilitate team communication to ensure staff is informed
Budgeting and management of staff capacity, utilization, and operating expense
Ensure staff plan and report billable and non-billable time accurately
Required Qualifications

Master’s Degree, MBA, or applicable experience
