The Opportunity 

Are you ready to contribute to the future of energy? We are looking for an R&D Project Manager to join our Technology & Solutions Development (Business R&D) team within HVDC at Hitachi Energy in Sweden. This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years of experience in engineering or project management to grow and make an impact in a global organization.

You will be part of a dynamic and international team of 20+ R&D Project Managers located mainly in Sweden, Poland, and India. 

This position is based in Ludvika or Västerås. 

How you will make an impact 

• Plan and lead R&D projects in alignment with our portfolio management. 
• Develop project schedules, resource plans, and budgets, and monitor progress toward milestones. 
• Identify and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle. 
• Support requirement analysis, feasibility studies, solution development, and documentation. 
• Collaborate within the R&D Project Management Office to continuously improve processes, share knowledge, and grow as a team.   

Your Background 

• University degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in electrical engineering or a related field. 
• A few years of experience in project management or technical roles within HVDC, FACTS, or substation automation. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a desire to grow into a leadership role. 
• Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies is a plus. 
• Analytical mindset and proactive problem-solving abilities. 
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
