The Maritime System Solutions Portfolio within the Maritime Systems Division (MSD) is seeking a detail driven, financially astute, and mission focused Deputy Program Manager to join the Leidos team to support a multidisciplined team in the execution of a US Navy contract.  The scope of the business activities within this contract includes: underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, supporting information technology & engineering services for complex maritime applications, development and support of subsea data acquisition systems, and other complex subsea maritime activities.

The Deputy Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the Program Manager in the overall financial review and planning, scheduling and execution, subcontractor management, and customer coordination of the program.  Position will require Deputy Program Manager to closely coordinate with the Program Manager and other DPMs, coordinate across a geographically distributed team, and periodic travel to support customer needs. 

MSD is an industry leader in developing, applying, and advancing the state-of-the-art signal processing technologies for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems including distributed netted sensor systems, communications systems, positioning systems, tactical decision systems, and autonomous unmanned platforms.  Leidos maritime systems are addressing complex mission requirements and pioneering impressive firsts in the application of advanced signal processing solutions to the full range of maritime missions. 

The MSD team includes an outstanding group of engineers and scientists, located in Arlington VA, Long Beach MS, Newport RI, Lynnwood and Poulsbo WA, San Diego CA, and other sites around the United States, who support a broad range of activities ranging from advanced prototype development to ongoing Navy programs of record.  The successful applicant will become part of a world class team that is a recognized leader in maritime systems development.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides joint leadership and responsibility for a program with complex ocean hardware/software systems within a customer focused environment.
  • Fulfill customer requirements with technical, innovative, cost-effective, and reliable solutions that appropriately leverage advanced technologies and are suitable in support of U.S. Navy programs.
  • Provide subcontractor and supplier direction and oversight.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager, DPMs, and Leads to support daily activities, identify gaps and holes in programs, financial reporting, CDRL development, procurements, solutioning with engineers and customers, and long-term planning.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager, Portfolio Manager, and other leads to support business development activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Finance, or similar technical discipline.
  • 10+ years’ total experience, with at least 2 years of project leadership exposure.
  • Strong interest in project finance and understanding of project finance, along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to support team leadership, and establish strong, collaborative working relationships with technical staff, senior managers, and peers.

Experience in the US Navy programs, contracts, and mission requirements

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
