Caterpillar Financial in Romania is the subsidiary of the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
The office was established in 2007, the current location is in Bucharest. The local team of 17 employees is a stable, friendly and dedicated team of professionals.
Currently we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team.
The scope of the role is to cover all the accounting tasks starting basic accounting and reaching the monthly closing processes, including preparation of financial statements and NBR reporting.
The accountant reports directly to Accounting Manager.
Requirements:
- Min. 5 years in a similar role, ideally in the F&B sector, as an senior accountant that has knowledge about various processes within the organization.
- Experience within a non-banking financial institution (IFN) would be an asset.
- University studies in finance & accounting and/or successful completion of an accounting certification (ACCA/CECCAR).
- General accounting knowledge and skills, that can include also reporting (Excel advanced, RAS/IFRS and US GAAP principles) and a good level of local legislation (banking accounting related, ideally) and tax law knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets and Word documents.
- Advance English language skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use the software packages utilized by Accounting -Charisma ERP experience would be a substantial advantage.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Accuracy, team spirit, speed, pro-activity, great attention to details.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the company’s financial–accounting activity complies with the legal regulations in force.
- Verifies the preparation method of financial–accounting documents, checks accounting entries, and reviews the monthly trial balance.
- Ensures and is responsible for preparing the trial balance within the deadlines established by applicable legislation.
- Verifies the calculation method and accounting record of the company’s obligations to the state budget (corporate income tax, non-resident tax, salary-related taxes and contributions, VAT, etc.), including corporate income tax calculation.
- Verifies and coordinates the accounting of capital operations, fixed assets, inventories, third parties, treasury, expenses, revenues and results, commitments, and other patrimonial elements in accordance with applicable legislation.
- Ensures there are no discrepancies between accounting records and operational data regarding outstanding capital, receivables, payables, customer advances, supplier advances, and off-balance sheet exposure.
- Monitors compliance with accounting principles and asset valuation principles (prudence, consistency of methods, going concern, independence of the financial year, opening balance sheet intangibility, non-compensation).
- Supervises the implementation of accounting procedures within the IT system, oversees reconciliation and account closing processes.
- Prepares monthly tax returns: 100, 300, 390, 394, SAF-T, and annual returns (non-residents, SAF-T for fixed assets), as well as other declarations.
- Prepares semi-annual and annual financial statements for the National Bank of Romania (BNR) and ANAF;
- Prepares and submits the reports requested by BNR.
- Verifies files for reporting to the Credit Risk Central (CRC) and submits CRC reports.
- Provides support in financial/internal audit and internal control activities.
- Will be involved in both statutory and group compliance activities, internal/SOX controls, AML, internal/external audit activities.
