Behavioral Health RNs provide holistic nursing care through mental health assessment of and treatment to patients with psychiatric symptoms, cognitive and/or behavioral challenges. Our nurses provide the Future of Care by meeting clients where they are to deliver direct treatment and provide consultation, education, and support across VNS Health. VNS Health Behavioral Health team members provide vital client-centered behavioral health care to New Yorkers most in need, across all stages of life and mental well-being. We deliver care wherever our clients are, including outpatient clinics, clients’ homes, and the community. Our short and long-term service models include acute, transitional, and intensive care management programs that impact the most vulnerable populations, from children, to adolescents, to aging adults. Compensation Range:$104,868.00 - $130,268.00 Annual

Along with our highly competitive base pay, we offer pay differentials based on education, clinical experience, certifications, and work in high need areas.

In recognition of the unique challenges faced by healthcare professionals working in hard-to-staff areas, we offer incentives for RNs serving in qualifying areas. If your assignment is designated as a hard-to-staff area, you may be eligible for an additional quarterly bonus incentive, totaling up to $10k annually.

What You Will Do

• Practices in the home and community to provide behavioral health treatment.

• Conducts psychosocial assessments and living conditions of patients and social determinants of health and develops treatment recommendations.

• Provides advocacy, psychoeducation, cognitive/behavioral interventions, monitoring of mental status, emotional support, brief psychotherapy, and/or family-based interventions.

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to achieve successful patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State, required

• NYS non-Driver photo ID card may be required  

 

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Associates degree in nursing required, master’s degree in psychiatric nursing, preferred

 

Work Experience:

• Minimum of one year of recent inpatient, outpatient or home care psychiatric experience Valid driver's license or Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skill

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

 

Pay Range per Visit:
If you are applying to the per diem per visit version of this job, the hiring range is as follows: $69.34- $110 per visit.
