JOB PURPOSE

The Demand Planning / Logistics Specialist for the Ground Support Division USA is responsible for vendor management, shipping (in-and outbound), inventory control, demand planning and last mile delivery of ground support products in the region.  The role provides the link between the Productions Units (PUs), third-party vendors and the Sales Area (SA).

This role is focused on developing and maintaining optimal security of supply while achieving cost efficiency in end-to-end logistics. The Demand Planning / Logistics Specialist will be instrumental in assisting the BLM in making informed decisions to allow for agility in all matters related to logistics and ultimately exceeding our customer’s expectations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Demand Planning / Vendor Management

  • Maintain communications with all relevant Pus/vendors to understand raw material inventories and capacities relevant to SA products
  • Maintain communication with BSSRs/CSSRs to understand customer demand patterns and develop robust inventory forecasts
  • Assist and collaborate with CSSRs regarding stock procurements
  • Set up new suppliers with Vendor Management Team

Logistics

  • Maintain relationships with brokers and freight forwarders as well as shipping/warehousing personnel at PUs and customers.
  • Schedule pick ups at PU and facilitate deliveries to customer or warehouse
  • Schedule and facilitate shipping out of warehouse locations
  • Monitor and consolidate shipping cost data developments
  • Stay current with geopolitical developments that have potential to disrupt/impact supply chains
  • Assist BLM in identifying alternative logistic solutions to ensure logistical agility, security of supply and cost efficiency

Inventory control

  • Monitor inventory levels in regards to quantities, value and OSMI development
  • establish min/max and reorder points for high-turnover products in conjunction with BLM/CSSR/BSSR
  • Verify quantities and availability as required for financial team
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory adjustments as needed
  • Assist with providing documentation as required during audits

General

  • Cross train with CSSR in order capture/management tasks
  • Staying current with customer/industry development to assist the overall team in market share capture and seamless business flow
