The Real Estate Financing business currently has over $750 million of assets under management, invested in short to mid-term loans secured by real estate predominantly in support of new construction projects. What we are looking for:

Reporting to the Managing Director, Real Estate Financing, the Analyst is responsible for supporting the Real Estate Financing team in order to achieve attractive returns on investments and ensure their full growth potential. The Analyst will assist the Managing Director and the Senior Director with origination, the initial screening of new financing opportunities, the preparation of credit committee submissions, closings, ongoing portfolio management and loan monitoring.

The successful applicant will be a self-starter, who is motivated, well-organized and approaches their work with a positive attitude; they will have prior experience completing due diligence and financial modeling in support of real estate transactions. They will play a key role in a dynamic and growing investment team and have the opportunity to work closely with executives to see projects through to their successful completion.

Your responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in the due diligence and underwriting process;
  • Contribute to the credit application process, write-up of internal memos, and drafting of commitment letters;
  • Assist in the preparation of internal memos regarding amendments for existing loans;
  • Work on due diligence searches and discusses results with the team;
  • Participate in the ongoing portfolio management as required (portfolio analysis, loan tracking, liaising with project parties);
  • Verify, analyze and interpret data (such as financial models, financial statements, market analyses, engineering reports, and other information as required) regarding new real estate financing opportunities to ensure that the Managing Director and the Senior Director are well informed;
  • Support the coordination of transaction activities with internal and external stakeholders of Fiera Real Estate;
  • Assist in the research and development of business opportunities and attends prospect meetings;
  • Maintain current knowledge of the Real Estate environment through ongoing research and participating in networking events; and
  • Other duties as assigned

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Professional designation (CFA, CPA, AACI, etc) is an asset;
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in Real Estate;
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite;
  • Reasonable understanding of loan structuring and documentation;
  • Ability to analyze market trends and relate them to the Fiera Real Estate business;
  • Ability to operate in a fast-growing, results-oriented environment while meeting demanding deadlines;
  • Ability to learn quickly and be proactive;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage many competing priorities;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Works well in a team environment, able to multi-task; and
  • Ability to liaise with external stakeholders in relation to due diligence and transaction documentation.

  • The expected start date for this role is in January 2025
  • Fiera Capital adheres to a hybrid working environment with 3 days in-office per week
