This job is a key member of the assigned department and is responsible for developing, coordinating, and conducting operational analyses related to staff scheduling, staffing outcomes, labor costs, and related workforce analytics/reports. Independently organizes and manages both special projects and a routine workload.

Education

Required - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, Business Administration, or Computer Science or related area

Preferred - Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, or Computer Science

Work Experience

Required – Three years’ experience in data analysis/analytics relating to human resources, staffing/scheduling, or labor cost management; or seven years related working experience at analyst or higher level in data analysis/analytics can be substituted for degree. Two years of experience with project related, multi-task responsibilities with a professional staff, experience prioritizing, organizing and coordinating multiple work assignments under strict deadlines, and working independently.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of required job information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, keyboard, and various software programs specific to role.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Access, Word, and PowerPoint.  Moderate understanding of query building/report writing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
  • Knowledge of workforce management, staff scheduling, and staffing processes.
  • Extensive analytic knowledge and critical thinking to interpret and organize data in order to problem solve and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to efficiently multi-task and prioritize.

Job Duties

  • Provides all scheduling/staffing analytics to support a high performing staffing resource center. Creates, reviews, and distributes daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports to leaders, ensuring data integrity and on-time delivery.  Continually reviews the reporting processes to ensure data is provided in the most efficient manner.
  • Under direction, develops and completes data-driven quarterly workforce analysis at unit and division level. Provides interpretive review of data trends and statistical anomalies.  Assists with presentation of report, gathering qualitative data from leaders, and providing recommendations.
  • Supports development and updating of annual staffing plans, assists with developing actionable, proactive metrics that drive forecasting capabilities and strategic insight.
  • Supports establishing schedule targets based on projected volume and approved staffing plan. Completes entry of targets into Kronos workload planner.
  • Assists with Kronos Advanced Scheduling user support, education, and become a functional system administrator.
  • Other related duties as required.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.   (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible. Mechanical lifting devices (carts, dollies, etc.) or team lifts should be utilized. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to travel throughout and between all company facilities.

Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.

The incumbent has no occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
