Vice President Management Services


 

What you will be doing:

The VP of Management Services (also known as VP of Supply Chain Management externally at the member hospital) will be part of the team within Premier that is leading our clients supply chain departments and or supply chain transformation efforts. The VP will be responsible for projects transforming a hospital’s supply chain or the daily operations of one or more of our clients Supply Chain’s or other operational departments. These engagements can be interim or long term but are typically higher in volume and/or complexity than most other engagements. They will also be responsible for identifying and standardizing best practices among all our clients, as well developing, and maximizing shared services to create efficiencies amongst our clients. The VP should be an experienced leader who can develop and implement strategic initiatives for our members and for the Premier teams they lead to improve member partnerships and business operations.

The Vice President is also responsible for:

  • Provide overall operational and strategic leadership for Hospital’s Supply Chain

  • Provide day-to-date oversight and manage Hospital supply chain operations that would include inventory management, purchasing, strategic sourcing (supplies, purchase services, capital, and pharmacy), value analysis, regulatory & compliance, process improvements, and performance management.

  • Implementing best practice and maximizing technology

  • Develop and socialize supply chain financial and operational dashboard

  • Establish goals and metrics

  • Develop and foster strong relationships with client at the C-Suite level.

  • Develop and implement consulting strategy consistent with the goals of clients

  • Develop and implement client goals, objectives, performance standards and priorities.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop staff

  • Build engagement with Executive, Physician, clinical and Business leaders

  • Provide supply chain project support for strategic and operational projects that impact supply chain

  • Develop standard workflow and process to support organizational business requirements

  • Run operations for acute and non acute entities including distribution, Sourcing, Digital print center, Courier, Contracting and Analytics

  • Develop and manage to supply chain budget for Hospital

  • Develop cost savings strategies and targets and drive savings

  • Emergency Preparedness planning and Pandemic inventory

  • Perform supply chain related activities as may be reasonably requested by the Engagement Manager or the Executive Sponsor

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility #1 – 80%

Provide overall operational and strategic leadership for Hospital’s Supply Chain

Responsibility #2 – 15%

Identifying and standardizing best practices among all our clients, as well as developing and maximizing shared services to create efficiencies among our clients

Responsibility #3 – 5%

Administrative functions

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 12 or more years

Education:

Bachelors (Required)


 

Preferred Qualifications

Skills:

  • Demonstrated Supply Chain transformation experience

  • Consulting Experience

  • Progressive leadership within Supply Chain or Hospital Operations

Experience:

  • Knowledge of healthcare supply chain management principals and concepts in the areas of procurement, receiving, distribution, replenishment, value analysis, materials management systems and equipment management.

  • Extensive leadership experience; developing and implementing short- and long-term strategy and leading teams.

  • Project and change Management

  • Technical skills that include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and current healthcare supply chain information systems.

Education:

  • Masters

Working Conditions: Remote


 

Travel Requirements: Travel 81-100% within the US


 

Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.


 

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $195,000 - $361,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
