Current Need:

This is a leadership role within the Consumer Products Group (“CPG”) team, responsible for all commercial activities to drive growth across our Foster & Thrive brand Over the Counter ("OTC") products. This leader will work alongside Sourcing to develop the new product innovation pipeline, negotiate Private Label Supply Agreements with key strategic suppliers, work cross-functionally with SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) to improve demand forecasting and supply plans, partner with distribution operations to optimize inventory, partner with Marketing to launch new campaigns and promotions, monitor retail pricing competitiveness, manage commercialization across all customer segments, and lead other strategic projects and priorities.  This position will have direct oversight for at least two individual contributors.

While this is a heavy remote role, the ideal candidate will reside within a commutable distance to our headquarters in Irving, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster & Thrive: Leads all commercial aspects of our Foster & Thrive private label OTC business, defining and executing the playbook and go-to-market strategy to take market share from brand and generic competitors and grow sales across all customer segments.  They will work closely with marketing to create advertising campaigns to build brand awareness and customer loyalty, and sales incentive plans to drive growth.  Respond to customer RFP’s and manage contract leads in support of business development. Manage retail pricing to ensure our private label products are competitively priced according to our value proposition. Work with all value stream stakeholders to develop and advance the F&T product innovation pipeline in standard and Eco-friendly packaging, looking out multiple years. Partner with Sourcing to review and respond to contract manufacturer redlines to private label sourcing agreements.  Lead key activities for new product launches. Launch direct-to-consumer capabilities via Marketplace platforms and the Foster & Thrive website, for future growth.  Partner with SIOP and Supply Chain teams to improve demand forecasting and supply plans to drive optimal inbound/outbound service levels. In coordination with legal, advance a MAP pricing program to be enforced across all customer selling segments. 

  • McKesson Idea Share (“MiS”): Leads McKesson IdeaShare Foster & Thrive product promotions.  Works with suppliers to identify product promotions for McKesson’s annual trade show, IdeaShare.  Support cross-functional teams to develop capabilities to make MiS a selling show, improving ROI on MiS, and driving sales growth of CPG products and services.

  • Planogram: Manages the annual category review and planogram schedule, educating and reinforcing proper steps to operationalize planogram changes and retail execution with the Category Managers. Primary point of contact with vendors that are supporting Planogram and category reviews, and lead on vendor RFPs and market checks.    

  • In addition, this individual will lead projects and initiatives in support of CPG’s annual priorities.  Provide project management support, technical expertise, and resource allocation as appropriate. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 9+ years of category and/or product management experience AND 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

Education:

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree in business (MBA) or business-related field (preferred).

Critical Skills:

  • Strategic critical thinker that embraces department progress and values change leadership

  • Autonomous self-starter with confident decision-making capabilities 

  • Previous Category Management experience with deep understanding of distribution

  • Strong analytical experience with the ability to balance a product portfolio, partner with procurement on purchasing decisions & managing inventory, and running financial analysis

  • Familiar with healthcare processes, contracts, and rebates

  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of sales leadership

  • Executive-level presentation skills

  • MS Office Skills: Intermediate Access skills and advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills

Additional/Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years of management experience preferred

  • Business Intelligence experience using Business Objects, snowflake, or Microsoft SQL  

  • Understanding of the independent drug market, retail national accounts, and hospital systems  

  • Strong analytical skills including financials and supply chain data 

  • Strong negotiation/influencing skills  

  • Relationship-building skills  

  • Ability to collaborate across different channels  

Working Conditions:

  • Office/Home-Office: Large percentage of time performing computer-based work

  • Moderate time spent communicating via phone and Microsoft Teams

  • Up to 10% travel

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$108,500 - $180,800
