P&C IT Services provides professional services to help our business units and corporate functions use technology to create, manage, and optimize information and business processes.  IT Services can include a wide range of activities such as: software development, data management, Cloud services, IT security, network security, technical support, establishing and overseeing access rights, procuring and maintaining equipment or software, managing the infrastructure, and defining security procedures,  The overall goal of IT Services is to provide technology solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and give our company a competitive advantage over our competitors.

Our Great American Software Lab (G.A.S. Lab) is looking for a technical product leader to join our team and work a hybrid schedule out of the Cincinnati office. This role will be part of our product leadership team, and will play a critical role in driving our product model practice within the lab. We're looking for someone who loves solving problems, isn't afraid of new challenges, and passionate and product and CND practices.

The G.A.S. Lab empowers highly collaborative teams to quickly deliver quality products that provide clear business value. We do this, currently, through the advocacy and practice of a Product Mindset, User-Centered Design, Extreme Programming, and Cloud Native Development.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Individual Contributor:

  • May actively work as part of a product team on discovering, designing, and building valuable solutions
  • Will provide product model coaching and enablement to teams outside of the G.A.S. Lab organization
  • May help lead, facilitate, or participate in discovery activities for other teams across the organization

Leadership:

  • Embodies and Drives IT's guiding principles: Know Their Business, Do What We Say, Run to the Fire, Learn to Change, Stand Together, Performance Matters, and Do Better Every Day
  • Ensures collaboration with business stakeholders, product/project managers, and technical teams to understand, analyze and prioritize needs to ensure understanding and execution of scope, objectives, and requirements.
  • Ensures optimum utilization of resources and management of budgetary targets to meet goals.
  • Partner closely with Senior Product Leadership on enterprise practices or transformation at scale.
  • Responsible for overseeing performance, coaching, growth, and collaboration of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in product model as a Product Manager, Product Owner, etc....
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written, listening to various levels of the organization
  • Ability to support multiple products and domains
  • Prior experience coaching/managing others preferred
  • Prior experience in insurance industry preferred
  • Prior XP/CND experience preferred

Other Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Field of Study: Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or a related discipline.

Experience: Generally, a minimum of 6 years of related experience. Experience with XP and CND practices a plus.
