Job Description:

Manager Accreditation Nurse

The Accreditation Manager is a key member of the Quality and Performance Improvement Team. This individual supports the accreditation and quality functions for the hospital as we design, build and manage and improve our quality programs. This individual leads the organization with ongoing programs to promote integration of standards and regulations for The Joint Commission and serves as a key resource for knowledge of and compliance with external regulatory requirements. This position leads and develops the Accreditation team.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Expert knowledge and interpretation of Joint Commission and CMS Standards
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret accreditation standards, identify organizational gaps and implement processes to meet standards and/or close gaps
  • Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and certification requirements and processes that are applicable to the healthcare setting
    • Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
    • Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
    • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
    • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
    • Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage a meeting
    • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon
  • CPHQ Certification within one year
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) or must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 60-day grace period
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or complete within two years

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years’ experience in acute care hospital setting and hospital accreditation/regulatory affairs preferred
