JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in the specific area.
Ability to execute highly complex or specialised work.
Knowledge acquired from several years of experience or specialist training in particular area.
Works independently, applies standards yet adapts precedent and may make departures from established
processes to resolve problems.
Responsible for the efficient purchase, storage and movement of raw materials and finished goods.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Under general direction, determines the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet the master production schedule.
• Initiates purchase or production requisitions as appropriate.
• May be expected to give direction and guidance to other Material Planners.
• Typically requires at least five years of experience.
• Frequently reports to an Inventory Planning and Control Manager.
• Provides advice and validates the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet the master production schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS
