KNOCKDOWNS OPERATOR – 2nd Shift Work Schedule:

12-hour shifts, 4 days per week - please see hours of operation below

  • Monday thru Friday 3:30pm - 4am

The Knockdowns Operator is responsible for the local delivery and execution of the all shipping forms operations to vendors and managers in accordance with Johnson Controls principles, corporate policies and procedures, and plant operations. You will perform a variety of employment related functions for the ultimate purpose of enhancing employee engagement, safety and health, productivity and ensuring employee compliance with Company policies in a manufacturing facility.

How you will do it:

· Knockdowns Operator will have the ability to apply previous manufacturing industry experience into product.

· Successfully apply labeling, disassembling, skidding, purge, and packing discipline into all standard models.

· Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using GMAW Process.

· Operate Miller Aluma Pro Mig gun.

· Operate manual and semi-automatic power and air hand tools.

· Operate manual and semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.

· Maintain safe work practices.

· Conduct technical inspections.

· Prepare input for various management and log reports.

· Read and review blueprints and specifications; ensure drawings and specifications will function as designed in environment intended for use.

· Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.

· Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair/rework techniques.

· Participate in training program as trainee/trainer as required.

· Practice and promote 5S throughout facility.

· Participate in kaizen events.

· Other assigned work as required.

· Perform daily inspection on all equipment required.

· Operate forklift and overhead cranes to transfer parts, material, and units throughout department.

What we look for:

· This position will work with supervisors and lead person to ensure continuous improvements in work cells, hitting quotas, working according to pre-set parameters using all forms of shipping “knockdown” processes.

· The ability to scan in and out of work orders is a must.

· The Knockdown B will be required to have strong knowledge and skill in operating all metalworking machinery.

· Additionally, the Knockdown B will be required to read and understand production AutoCAD 2D drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.

· Successfully preformed on Knockdown B role within Johnson Controls.

· Follow Operation Description Sheet (ODS), Safety Operational Sheet (SOS), Visual Quality Acceptance Form (VQA), and Training Documents

· High School Diploma, GED or certifications

Preferred

· (1+) years’ experience in manufacturing industry.

· GMAW experience.
