What you will do
As the Program Leader within Johnson Controls Strategic Accounts, your goal is to support our strategic account team and drive maximum sales, operational excellence and profitability. This is done through the development, deployment and support of enterprise level sales and overseeing the efficient execution of projects and initiatives.
This role focuses on supporting and advancing enterprise-wide engineering standards, processes, and solutions for strategic accounts while aligning with organizational and customer goals. It involves designing and implementing solutions that enhance business efficiency, drive growth, and ensure accurate reporting, while contributing to strategic initiatives and high-level opportunity estimates. The position requires building and maintaining strong customer relationships by advising on standard designs, implementation strategies, and deployment plans, while ensuring clear communication and satisfaction. Collaboration across corporate, regional, and branch teams is essential to align strategies and integrate customer requirements into operations. Additionally, the role leverages analytics to track performance KPIs, provides regular updates to leadership, and promotes standardization through communication platforms. Maintaining subject matter expertise in building technologies, processes, and tools is critical, along with ensuring quality, compliance, and efficient delivery across all solutions.
Coordinate JCI’s product and technology roadmap, and JCI’s operational execution, to our strategic customers’ technology vision. Align customers’ requirements and engineering specifications toward JCI’s offerings, Equipment, Controls, Digital, Fire, and Security.
Coordinate with strategic customer stakeholders including engineering, construction, and mechanical firms to drive JCI as basis of design into requirements and specifications. Communicate information related to critical activities, resources, and timelines.
Work with multiple JCI business domains to develop innovative methods for project delivery and process execution to meet customer expectations and needs.
Support the development and maintenance of design documentation for all aspects of the enterprise deployment of standards, including project scheduling, billing, hardware engineering design documentation, sequence of operations, and commissioning. Keep all documentation and data updated and available.
Work across multiple engineering / design teams and locations to ensure consistency and standard practices across the enterprise while optimizing engineering efficiency.
Provide sales and high-level technical support to the field organization for the implementation of enterprise level initiatives and engineered solutions.
Become highly knowledgeable on customer’s design and implementation strategies. Attend design and project meetings, ensuring that projects are delivered with a high degree of customer satisfaction, on time and within budget.
Work with Strategic Account Management to facilitate regular performance reviews with all key stakeholders.
Provide leadership to train and direct multi-disciplined technical, subcontractors, and administrative personnel to resolve engineering, administrative and field issues occurring during project implementation and installation. Coach and mentor technical and project team members on effective project management practices and techniques. Foster a continuous improvement environment with quality tools, behaviors, and practices.
Negotiate with customers to obtain additional business and identify and pursue new opportunities for contract revenue growth. Manages/directs proposal efforts for program growth or new opportunities.
Coordinate with local project leadership and project management consultants to address project execution issues such as delays, change orders, liquidated damages, and subcontractor performance. Support the field installation and service organizations in the resolution of escalated program or project related issues.
Develop internal network of support across various levels of the organization to aid in issue resolution for the customer. Support the quality team in the evaluation and resolution of quality issues.
What we look for
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university in engineering, science, Engineering, Construction, Project Management or Business Administration or other related fields
10+ years of experience in program and project management.
Strong interpersonal skills
Five (5) to (7) years of direct experience in engineering, projects / program management and/or program administration in the construction, building solutions or technologies industries.
Communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and analytic skills are key characteristics.
An individual that is ready to partner up with the global enterprise account manager in supporting and growing an enterprise strategic account for JCI.
P.E., LEED, ASIS CCP, PMI, PMP, or other equivalent certifications desired.
Proven team leader capabilities and supervision experience in dealing with large integrated projects and programs
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Superior documentation and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented. Must possess and demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
Highly motivated and results oriented. Able to communicate clearly and lead by influence. Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization
Experience with JCI back-office systems (IBS, Salesforce, NxGen), construction management software (eBuilder), Commissioning platforms (CWd, CxAlloy) is considered a plus.
Travel up to 30%.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $126,000-189,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
