The Senior Business Analyst - Futures Clearing is a senior-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.
FDC (Futures and Derivatives Clearing) Tech is a dynamic and fast-paced group in Markets Tech that facilitates low latency, high performance, straight-through-processing of Listed Derivatives on all major futures exchanges globally. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for liaising between technology and business to execute strategic projects within the Clearing Technology group that will drive new business, create efficiencies, and enhance controls. He/she will partner with the Product Development, Technology, QA, and Project Management teams in an Agile setting, collaborate with global stakeholders, and negotiate with vendors for delivery. The candidate will be a strategic thinker and a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of the Derivatives markets and a passion for solving complex problems. He/she will also possess relentless customer focus and a strong desire to make a mark on the organization. This is a global role with no formal people management responsibilities and will require a certain level of flexibility to collaborate across different time zones.
Responsibilities:
Participate in strategic technology roadmap discussions for the Listed Derivatives clearing platform.
Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to facilitate and document requirements and perform data analysis adhering to Citi standards.
Collaborate with global futures exchanges and clearinghouses as well as vendors on exchange mandatory changes and upgrades.
Develop a strong understanding of the futures execution and clearing business and act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders.
Manage multiple concurrent projects and negotiate with stakeholders to manage expectations .
Collaborate with product owners to prioritize and groom product backlogs
Facilitate user acceptance testing with product development, operations and client executives.
Maintain project documentation on internal portals and share knowledge across regional FCX teams.
Collaborate with the QA team to ensure adequate test coverage and ensure that the test results meet acceptance criteria.
Participate in scrum ceremonies and organize sprint demos to facilitate user acceptance signoffs.
Proactively work with stakeholders to understand their challenges and devise solutions for enhanced client experience.
Demonstrate a mindset of continuous process improvements by actively challenging requirements, business processes, and establishing standards.
Effectively co-ordinate and communicate within teams and with interfacing systems & stakeholders, as required.
Proactively identify and escalate risks, bottlenecks, and concerns and exhibit a collective sense of ownership for project deliverables.
Develop communication to guide, influence and convince others, including colleagues in other areas and external customers
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
8-10 years of business analysis and project management experience.
Demonstrated track record of delivering projects for asset management firms or investments banks.
Experience working with Fixed Income, Equities or Derivatives products.
Demonstrated track record of managing multiple work streams while maintaining customer focus and attention to detail.
Contribute to and drive product roadmap discussions and appropriately assess risk while making business decisions.
Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management skills.
Experience developing context and data flow diagrams and wireframes.
Strong listening, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills to influence a wide range of global audiences and gain consensus.
Superior planning, organization, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to build trusting relationships and achieve results.
Ability to perform data and trend analysis using SQL queries.
Experience with software development lifecycle in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
Proven ability to manage complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact by weighing various action plans and balancing potentially conflicting needs
Nice-to-have Skills:
Application Development background as a developer.
Familiarity with Front or Middle Office applications.
Strong understanding of Derivatives asset class.
Familiarity with FIX protocol and any previous work collaborating with futures exchanges or clearinghouses.
Education:
Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
