Position Overview

Apollo is seeking a highly motivated Director with excellent business management skills and strong knowledge of alternative investments to join our Strategy team within the Global Wealth Management Solutions (“GWMS”) business. In partnership with our Head of Strategy and US Independent Leadership, this individual will be responsible for supporting the direction of distribution strategy within the US Independent channel. The Director will play an important role in expanding Apollo’s distribution capabilities across the US Independent client population.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in design of go-to-market sales distribution strategy and execute channel vision in collaboration with cross-functional channel partners
• In partnership with US Independent Leadership and broader Strategy team, develop business plan with the goal of supporting sales, driving revenues and spearheading the successful adoption of Apollo’s products across the Independent Broker-Dealer and RIA ecosystem
• Consult on sales strategy and assist in execution of launch plans (i.e., internal and external trainings, sales communication, launch calls, roadshows, conference participation and fund closes)
• Collaborate with channel partners to establish KPIs and client engagement model to accelerate growth
• Possess strong investment acumen and operate as an expert Apollo’s product suite and portfolio management capabilities, maintaining a deep knowledge of positioning, holdings, competitive edge and overall investment results across the capital structure
• Work in partnership with data intelligence team to ensure continuity and execution of channel initiatives – assist with development of channel infrastructure and reporting
• Provide continuity between channel initiatives and strategy execution with measurement of resulting impact
• Serve as a liaison to key channel stakeholders in execution of channel vision e.g. Sales, Marketing, DDE, COO, National Accounts
• Collaborate with key internal business partners, including External and Internal Sales, Investment Teams, Marketing, Legal and others to effectively deliver the best of Apollo to clients
• Act as a consistent team player who effectively works across Apollo to advance the firm’s goals while assisting with the development of junior talent

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong understanding of either the institutional or wealth management sales cycle (preferably both)
• Minimum 7 years of experience in financial services industry
• Prior experience working with institutional investors, financial advisors or private wealth clients
• Prior knowledge/work experience in alternative investments required
• Strong organization skills and work ethic
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
• Must work effectively with other groups in the organization and collaborate as necessary
• Discretion and ability to handle confidential, sensitive information
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications/functions required including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of CRM, preferably Salesforce
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Series 7 and 63 licensed
• Demonstrates integrity, high-energy and motivation to succeed

Pay Range

$180-210k

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
