What does this role look like?

  • Full ownership of the design and maintenance the components, UI patterns, and documentation for Whop’s design system and component library.
  • Work side-by-side with product designers, engineers, writers, and other stakeholders from around the company to develop the tools and processes they need to build world-class user experiences.
  • Write documentation and usage guidelines that teach designers and engineers how to use components and patterns across design and code.
  • Partner with other product designers and engineers to create high quality user experiences across different product areas, geographies, and platforms.
  • Uphold Whop’s high standards for design and product quality.

90-Day Plan:

  • First 30 Days: Understand Whop’s product and design system, and initiate design work on 2 new features.
  • Next 60 Days: Progress to designing new product offerings from the backlog to enhance user experiences.
  • By 90 Days: Achieve mastery of the design system, design multiple products informed by user research, resolve design bottlenecks, and maintain clear communication with the team without compromising quality, and collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing product design, user experience design, and visual design skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Figma variables, tokens and libraries.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and interaction design.
  • Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and analyzing data to inform design decisions.
  • Very strong comprehension of web and mobile design constraints, including responsive design and accessibility best practices.
  • Experience working at a startup (preferred).
