Your challenge, if you wish to accept it, will be to act as the Manager of Sales and Technical Training.  We are in the process of seeking out a leader that will guide a team of sales and technical instructors while managing their own strategic projects as a proven Learning Professional. You will collaborate with other learning managers, program managers, technical instructors, and support staff in various locations across the globe. Your team will touch employees, distributors and customersYou will work hand in hand with product and solutions teams, sales teams, and operations teams across the enterprise.   • Positively impact the growth of our Global Products organization by equipping channel partners and distributors with the information and skills they need grow and run their business. .  

  • Lead a team of highly capable learning professionals and help channel partners solve critical business problems through training and performance support initiatives  

  • Continue to refine your adult learning expertise in a player/coach role through your own work on learning design and leading a team of designers. 

  • Investigate new opportunities and participate in the development of effective training that is impactful and inventive.   

  • Align your ingenuity and innovative ideas with the global strategic plan of the business.   

  • Learn on a day to day basis about how our equipment and strategies help our customers and channel partners as “the power behind your mission”  

 

How You Would Do it: 

  • Mentor, coach, and evaluate your team of product sales and leadership trainers through challenging, global sales learning projects and programs.  

  • Manage team members through all performance evaluations, job training needs, and other managerial responsibilities as needed.  

  • Act as a subject matter expert and learning consultant.  

  • Support content development on critical deliverables to ensure timely execution  

  • Review and propose certification program changes in support of strategic goals  

  • Build sales and digital knowledge, skills, and behavior models and assessments supporting the talent development of our channel partners 

  • Works cross functionally within Learning & Development to build a single learning culture at JCI (One Learning)  

  • Provide initial learning consultation to channel partners  

  • Ensure the creation of professional instructor-led and virtual/online training programs and learning solutions that meet the identified learning objectives. 

  • Help set learning priorities for your team across a diverse and ever changing landscape.   

  • Partner with our Development team to ensure learning projects incorporate the most current technologies and modern graphics.  

  • Develop subject matter expertise in new technology, products, or processes and serve as a subject matter expert in the creation of learning materials for these new areas using defined processes. 

  • Drive consistency from project to project, and across product learning, so that we achieve a more efficient and holistic approach. 

  • Drive performance across 5 learning KPI’s: Instructor Rating, Net Promoter Score, Scrap Learning, Cost to Benefit Ratio, and Estimated Performance Improvement 

  • Communicate and manage learning timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and risks across a spectrum of learning professionals and stakeholders.   

  • Keep current and continue education in training techniques, performance improvement, knowledge management, instructional design, adult learning principles, and organizational development. 

  • Use strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a wide range of managers, instructors, SMEs and internal stakeholders. 

  • Ensure lessons learned and best practices from previous learning initiatives and deployments are captured and implemented into cross functional projects.   

  • Help set and drive evaluation protocols for learning deliverables and be able to provide required metrics to business leaders.   

  • Understand technology and current curriculum in order to participate in the effective design of learning and performance support tools. 

  • Fostering a growth mindset and supporting the career growth and development of all learning team members. 

What We Look For: 

  • Visionary – You have a vision and a passion for learning, and can execute that in the real world.   

  • Technical- Ideally, we need someone who will have a good understanding of our products. 

  • Commercial – You have a strong sales background (5 years or more) and understand the indirect/channel sales landscape.   

  • Operational You have been part of an operations focused organization, or have supported teams who have install, service, or other operations related responsibilities.  

  • Articulate Your writing and communication skills must be strong in order to clearly articulate processes, needs, and influence a broad range of stakeholders across the globe. 

  • Educated – Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, and has at least 7 years experience working in an Learning & Development or performance consulting environment.  

  • InfluencerIs able to influence at all levels. Has demonstrated the ability to lead when required but knows when and how to follow.  

  • Detailed – Realizes the importance of attention to detail in leading to impactful outcomes. 

  • Collaborative – Collaborates with instructors, Learning Designers, learning professionals, product managers, vendors, program managers, stakeholders and more people in the business than we can count. 

  • Ambitious – Willing to assume authority, take risks, and set clear goals for career development. 

  • Professional – Has personal ethics, does quality work and has a positive attitude. 

  • Driven – Has a sense of urgency and is one who has demonstrated the ability to take initiative  

  • Ability to travel up to 30%, primarily to our training facility in Norman, Oklahoma.
