C.H. Robinson is looking to add a Senior Manager Finance to our team in Sao Paulo, Brazil, supporting the Regional Controller and International Finance. Due to continued growth in Brazil, we are seeking a talented individual to join our Finance team. In this role, you will work closely with our US headquarters to prepare accurate and timely accounting, tax, and finance operations information for Brazil. You will have a high degree of team partnership and engagement with senior leadership. You will work on the International Finance team and be challenged daily to juggle and prioritize multiple initiatives, with an emphasis on accuracy and completeness. The ideal candidate has both financial and technical acumen and an ability to influence across all levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the timely preparation and consolidation of financial statements for Brazil, including monthly and quarterly internal operating statements.
  • Manage Brazil monthly closing activities including review and analysis of data, provide oversight of accounting systems, internal controls, and process enhancements to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with all internal/external accounting standards and guidelines.
  • Oversee Brazil statutory audits and tax compliance.
  • Responsible for Brazil internal control activities to ensure compliance requirements are achieved. Works with internal/external audit in key control processes and required remediation activity.
  • Establish a review process of Brazil income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Standardize the month-end close process throughout Brazil and drive the design, testing, and implementation of new automated accounting solutions for Brazil.
  • Provide financial support to the planning, budgeting, and forecasting process.
  • In partnership with IT and related vendors, review performance of Brazil’s accounting and finance systems and propose upgrades for review and approval. If approved, responsible to manage projects through to completion.
  • Provide critical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the Brazil finance team members.
  • Participate in various special projects, including M&A integrations.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 8+ years public/private experience.
  • 5+ years supervisory experience managing a team.
  • 2+ years’ experience managing projects.
  • 10% of travel annually, both domestic and international.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Big 4 and US public company experience preferred.
  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Oracle/Totvs financials.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Must have strong leadership skills including managing, hiring, and motivating staff.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, writing, and presentation).
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.
