What You’ll Get to Do

Serve as a Database Administrator supporting the client’s Corporate Business Information Systems.  Provides Oracle database support for Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, and PeopleSoft applications.  Requires a thorough understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Linux operating systems.  The successful DBA will also administer MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL database systems such as MarkLogic, MongoDB and DynamoDB.  The incumbent also provides customer support to the client on multiple networks. This position is on site. 

More About the Role

Oracle Grid Infrastructure and RDBMS 19c, Oracle Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13c.  Thorough working knowledge of: Oracle ASM, AWS (EC2, EBS-volumes, snapshots, DMS, DynamoDB, Lambda and S3).  Performs RMAN backups/restores, database exports/imports.  Formulates ad-hoc SQL queries and interrogates databases to troubleshoot and resolve low-level system/performance issues.  Performs duties within established policies, procedures and service level agreements.  Responsible for assisting in the resolution of other wide-ranging application issues, software/hardware failures, and/or network problems.  Resolves complex system failures, troubleshoots software, hardware, and network problems, and addresses Service Center incident tickets.  Maintains user accounts and ACLs on network file systems.  Ensures data recoverability by maintaining a schedule of system backups, snapshots, and database archive log operations.  Achieves optimal performance and availability by assessing, implementing, and managing appropriate technical solutions.  Conducts routine server audits to monitor compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines.  Possesses excellent customer service skills, frequently communicating with internal, external, and vendor contacts.  Must be available for after hours and on-call support. 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

BS degree in CS, IS, engineering, other technical discipline, and 10 years’ experience.  AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification 

Install and administer Oracle Grid Infrastructure, RDBMS, Cloud Control, and ASM technologies. Administer Linux OS, and associated file systems. 

Develop, manage, and maintain administrative scripts written in a variety of languages. 

Provide O&M functions such as database cloning, performance optimization, usage monitoring, mirroring, and research and installation of current patches. 

Perform and maintain database snapshot, backup, and disaster recovery processes. 

Provide impact assessment for system-level changes on existing infrastructure. 

Participate in technical exchanges providing well-articulated subject matter expertise. 

Ensure compliance with computer security and accreditation policies.  IT security expertise. 

Interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills. 

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Visual acuity to work on a computer for extended periods of time and ability to move from one workstation to another. 

TS/SCI clearance with ability to successfully complete a polygraph. 

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional

Oracle Cloud Certification 

Knowledge of PeopleSoft applications and processes, geospatial products, and COP management.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100-$172,400
