We are looking for an Engineering Compliance & Auditor to join our Vehicle Engineering Team based in Bedford, MK44 3JZ.
Our Engineering team delivers industry-leading vehicle assessment and inspection services to the insurance and fleet sectors, supporting clients with cost control, valuation, categorisation, settlement, and salvage remarketing solutions.
In this role, you will support the training, auditing, and compliance activities across regional engineering teams, helping to ensure high-quality reporting, strong customer service, and continuous operational improvement.
The salary for this position is £39,140 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure engineering reports meet industry standards and client requirements.
Conduct quality audits across key areas including estimating accuracy, fraud detection, valuations, and salvage categorisation.
Support and deliver training, coaching, and development for regional engineering teams.
Monitor team performance through KPIs, audits, and compliance reviews.
Identify opportunities for process, system, and performance improvements.
Maintain engineering best practice standards and support onboarding and process changes.
Work closely with Engineering Managers and Team Leaders to drive continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Experience supporting continuous improvement and high-performance standards.
Strong training, coaching, and auditing skills.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and estimating systems.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to SLA targets.
Knowledge of vehicle damage, repair methods, insurance claims procedures, and vehicle roadworthiness requirements.
Membership of, or willingness to join, relevant professional bodies (IMI, IAEA, IRTE, etc.).
Desirable:
Previous supervisory experience.
Experience in a vehicle engineering office-based role.
Commitment to continuous learning and self-development.
