WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Director, Studio Logistics and Planning that will lead and be part of a direct and dotted-line team, to guide the end-to-end cross functional management and execution of high-volume product planning, logistics and tracking across multiple studios to support Nike’s premium content delivery at scale.
This role will collaborate across core functional Marketing teams at a Global and Geography (Geo) level, to ensure the planning and transition into a new way of working, in order to maintain and deliver seasonal and year-over-year product logistics and project delivery with a unified strategy. A candidate for this role will have experience managing high-volume statuses of work at many places in a production flow, anticipate challenges, and ensure timely delivery and return of product. This is a highly visible role that will require effective communication at all levels from executive leadership summaries to change management team training.
The Director will play equal parts problem solver and doer, as they effectively navigate the Matrix of Nike and it’s evolving landscape. Building key partnerships, developing a strong point of view and gaining consensus across teams will be key to the success of the role. You will balance the tactical needs of product delivery with the soft skills required to orchestrate, coach and inspire your team to plan ahead and prepare for transition and change management. You are the conduit to the product ordering teams and the up-stream functions that bridge the direct logistics work to run through the studios. You inspire teammates through your experience and best practice examples.
As Director, Studio Logistics and Planning, you will manage a team of operational experts collaborating cross-departmentally with Brand, Planning/Ordering, Styling, Production, and Post-Production teams to support the timely photo and video productions through completion. Translating our business partners needs and Brand-right priorities into reality through the product planning and logistics lens of scalable studio operations.
You’ll be guiding your team to perform inventory related tasks such as correct errors in inventory movement / balances, product logistics checking product in/out of the facility, oversee international shipping, and inventory liquidation. Develop, document and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reduce training time, improve comprehension, and ensure compliance while using that detailed knowledge to look ahead and support the studio with planning expertise and change management across the studios. Including new operational processes as we expand production to multiple locations while being comfortable in assessing tradeoffs, risks and making decisions with imperfect information across multiple workstreams.
A typical day/week is never the same. You will be working across your team, the studio functions and Marketing teams to support activities around the project(s) and product planning that ensure on time, on expectation, and on budget studio operations. You will add clarity as needed to help ensure studio logistics operations and planning decisions are in-line with your peers’ reliance and connection to your team deliverables.
You will report directly to the Senior Director of Icon Studios, Global. You will partner daily with the Studio & Digital Operations, Production and Post-Production leads to deliver seasonal readiness for our high-volume studio operation. Other teams you will work close with are: Brand Marketing, Marketing shared-services (product ordering and reporting), Capabilities, and Creative Operations. These teams, along with vendor partners, will be your connection to the implementation of new long-term logistics operation practices, transition and change management to deliver on the new creative direction for still and video content.
