Due to internal progression, we’re looking for new Alarm Handlers to join Anglian Water’s business-critical Tactical Operations Team, delivering a 24/7 monitoring service that underpins the safe and efficient operation of our water and wastewater assets.
This is a highly responsible, real-time operational role where you’ll take ownership of deploying and managing telemetry alarms across one of the largest monitoring systems in Europe. You’ll ensure issues are identified early, risks are managed proactively and field teams are deployed effectively to maintain service and protect our customers.
Monitor, interpret and manage telemetry alarms across water and wastewater assets
Take ownership for deployment of alarms to operational teams in line with SLAs
Filter and prioritise alarms to manage operational workload effectively
Escalate risks and incidents to Duty Managers
Raise and manage work orders using SAP and associated systems
Maintain situational awareness across the operational network
Act as a 24/7 contact point for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure critical work is verbally deployed and accepted by field teams
Produce reports and insight from alarm data to support performance
What we’re looking for
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure 24/7 control room environment (including days, nights, weekends & bank holidays)
Strong analytical and decision-making capability
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Proactive mindset with the ability to challenge and improve processes
Strong IT skills including Excel, SAP or similar systems
Desirable: Experience in telemetry, control room or operational monitoring environments. Knowledge of water or wastewater operations.
In this role, you’ll play a critical part in managing operational risk across a 24/7 service, working with advanced telemetry systems and developing specialist skills through structured training and progression pathways.
