Day in the Life of a Dosing Nurse

  • Follow policies and procedures to correctly identify patients and administer medication per the medical providers orders.

  • Dispense daily and take-home medication at the dosing window.

  • Coordinate care with clinical and medical staff for continuity of patient care. 

  • Maintain and complete accurate patient documentation including assessing for impairment. 

  • Ensuring medication count is accurate and completed daily. 

  • Follow compliance policies and procedures around documentation practices and expectations.

  • Participate in nursing team meetings and cross treatment meetings.  

  • Connecting with patients, offering true empathy and a listening ear to those struggling.

Education and Experience requirements:

  • Licensed Practical or Registered Nurse License issued in the state in which they will be practicing or a multi-state compact status license.

    • License should be in good standing, unencumbered, and active. If applicable, disciplinary actions documented on any license will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

  • 3+ years of nursing experience is preferred.

  • Strong phlebotomy skills, experience drawing blood on collapsed veins is a plus.

  • Active and current CPR or BLS certification is preferred.

Hours and Schedule

Our nursing team enjoys an early morning schedule with early afternoon out times. It is expected for all nursing team members to participate in our Saturday rotation. The frequency of this rotation is determined by the current staff count.

  • Expected hours for this role are 37-40 hours per week with few opportunities for overtime.

  • 4:45 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday

  • 5:30 AM – 10:30 AM, rotating Saturdays
