Reporting to the Director, In-Store Merchandising and Forecasting, the Sr. Manager, In-Store Merchandising and Forecasting (No Frills), oversees the technical development, evolution, and execution of the Merchandising Guidance Tool (MGT). In addition, meeting the forecasting needs by optimizing forecasts for banner programs. This role requires strong working knowledge of pricing and promotional processes, supply chain, resolving errors i.e. bookings vs receiving, retail integrity and performance reporting.  The Senior Analyst, Merchandising & Mapping reports directly to the Sr. Manager to ensure floor displays are planned accurately and in a timely manner.

Accountabilities:  

  • Ensure floor plans built to drive required programs and accommodate flow of inventory to optimize sales, profit and enhanced store execution  
  • Review mandatory merchandising orders and communicate to stake holders
  • Liaise with category teams on new program launches, enhancements, and seasonal flips to drive optimal programs at No Frills stores 
  • Communicate merchandising standards and direction through Merchandising Guidance Tool and Execution Guides 
  • Work with the promo team to plan and execute merchandising rotations and front pages
  • Assist promo team with late ad changes
  • Review the allocation planning process for large programs and overall banner program forecasting 
  • Mentor and coach team members in achieving their goals and IDP’s
  • Cater to the needs of our stores in developing the MGT tool to our customer’s evolving requirements

Role Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education (business, marketing, retail, finance, economics)  
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)  
  • Detail oriented and strong time management skills 
  • Management experience in retail operations and/or merchandizing, an asset
  • Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal skills.  
  • Strong technical skills –MS Office (esp. Excel and PowerPoint), experience in Loblaw systems, and development background
  • Ability to contribute to promotional programs in line with corporate strategies  
  • Strong knowledge of promotions and merchandising programs within Hard Discount, an asset.
