Job Description:
UPS Digital is building a connected suite of products that help businesses ship smarter, reduce risk, and deliver better post‑purchase experiences. These products span insurance, checkout protection, tracking, returns, claims, and operational tools—used globally by merchants, partners, and consumers.
As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will design end‑to‑end product experiences across the UPS Digital portfolio, helping ensure our products feel coherent, intuitive, and confidence‑building, even as they span different audiences, technologies, and use cases.
This role is for a designer who not only thinks in flows and systems—but also understands the raw materials of the web. You don’t need to be a full‑time front‑end engineer, but you do understand how modern interfaces are actually built, and you design with that reality in mind.
Design Real, Shippable Product Experiences
Design UX and UI across multiple UPS Digital products and solutions
Own work from early exploration through detailed execution and delivery
Translate complex business, technical, and regulatory requirements into clear, usable interfaces
Work Across the Product Suite
Design journeys that span products and services (e.g., learn → purchase → manage → claim)
Ensure consistency and continuity across touchpoints while respecting product‑specific needs
Contribute to a shared interaction and visual language across the UPS Digital ecosystem
Partner Deeply with Engineering
Work closely with front‑end and full‑stack engineers to ensure designs are feasible, performant, and implemented as intended
Design with an understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, design systems, and component‑based architectures
Participate in build reviews, QA, and staging to protect experience quality through release
Bring Front‑End Awareness into Design
Understand how layout, responsiveness, states, accessibility, and interactions translate into code
Design components and patterns that align with how modern front‑end systems are built
Be comfortable reading, discussing, and—when useful—writing front‑end code
(Even though nobody really codes without AI anymore, you know what’s actually happening under the hood.)
Elevate UX & UI Craft
Design thoughtful interaction patterns, behaviors, and edge cases—not just screens
Apply strong visual design fundamentals: hierarchy, spacing, typography, color, and motion
Ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and clarity are baked in from the start
Product experiences feel intuitive, consistent, and trustworthy across the UPS Digital suite
Engineers can implement designs with minimal guesswork or rework
UX and UI decisions scale cleanly across breakpoints, states, and real‑world conditions
Designs respect technical constraints without sacrificing experience quality
Customers understand what they’re doing, what they’re buying, and what happens next
Experience
6–10+ years of experience in UX/UI or product design
Experience designing complex products, platforms, or enterprise‑grade applications
Exposure to logistics, fintech, insurance, SaaS, or B2B products is a plus
Design & Front‑End Skills
Strong interaction design, information architecture, and visual design skills
Advanced proficiency in Figma (components, variables, prototyping, Dev Mode)
Solid understanding of front‑end fundamentals:
HTML, CSS, modern layout systems
Component‑based UI frameworks
Responsive and accessible design patterns
Ability to reason about performance, constraints, and implementation tradeoffs
Mindset
Systems‑oriented thinker who designs beyond individual screens
Comfortable operating between design and engineering
Values clarity, usability, and real‑world outcomes over visual excess
Collaborative, pragmatic, and curious about how things actually work
Design global products used by millions of businesses and consumers
Work on complex, meaningful problems with real operational and financial impact
Help shape how a legacy company becomes a modern, digital platform
Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams across regions
Design experiences that must work in the real world—at scale
