Senior System Operations (SysOps) Engineer

 Job Description        

As our Senior System Operations (SysOps) Engineer you will be given a unique opportunity to support Cloud-based environments and work on high impact projects across different teams. Your mission is to provide support for Information Technology (IT) assets and take ownership of related Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and your responsibilities include:-

• Timely resolution of internal end user help desk requests which includes but not limited to: Cloud services, Operating system, end user applications or hardware, network, VPN connectivity
• Ensuring availability of internal infrastructure (vpn, fiber backhaul, routers, firewalls, wifi, malware mitigation, system backups, etc.)
• Daily system monitoring and timely response and supporting on call duties.
• Periodic backup of critical platforms
• Periodic system upgrades for security and optimal operations
• Review of application and system logs
• IT related equipment testing and installation (NAS - Network Attached Storage, etc.)
• VPN service and Firewall policy management
• Wiki ownership which includes technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
• User account management on internal admin platforms.
• Management of third party vendors for hardware and licenses
• Manage & support edge server deployment remotely

Must-Haves

• Minimum 6+ Years’ of Experience in a System Administration / Engineer or similar role
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other relevant accolades
• Experience in either: RH Linux, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, (Installation, troubleshooting etc.)
• Experience in Firewall Administration (Fortigate etc.)
• Strong background in Network design and implementation i.e. cloud/on-prem subnetting, routing , Subnet, DNS, VPN, IPSEC, BGP etc.
• Hands-on experience and deep understanding of Cloud Infrastructure in either: AWS, GCP, and the services offered by the public cloud providers.
• Strong coding skills in IaC preferrably terraform, Pulumi, python, etc.
• Hands-on experience and understanding of virtualization platform: OVM, KVM, VMware
• Understanding of various IT process framework: Agile, ITIL
• Able to support 24x7 on call on rotating basis
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders
• Ability to take up ownership of various projects and work
• Experience in managing multiple external vendors

• Understanding of microservices, containers, kubernetes.
• Linux certification (RHEL or Ubuntu-based certification)
• Network certification (CCNA)
• Cloud platform certifications (AWS, GCP)
• Experience in Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, OpsGenie etc.)
• Knowledge or experience in DevOps, Automation or Hybrid Environment
