Position Grade: Physiotherapist – Level 3 Year 1/2

Salary: $108,595.00 - $112,114.00 base salary per annum

About the role:
The Physiotherapy Department at St Vincent’s Hospital is seeking an experienced, appropriately skilled Physiotherapist to become part of our Intensive Care Team.  The position is a two day a week Senior ICU position, working on Thursday and Friday.  It will be responsible for the provision of high-quality care to critically ill patients including intubated/ventilated and ECMO patients.  The position will also be responsible for the clinical supervision of junior staff members and will have a role in service development and advocacy.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Senior Intensive Care Physiotherapist who possesses a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who are experienced in the provision of physiotherapy to critically ill patients.  We are also seeking someone who has experience in clinical supervision, service development and service evaluation.

Selection Criteria:

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

2.Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy/Current Australian Physiotherapy Registration.

3.Experienced clinician possessing specialist knowledge and extensive experience in the areas of Intensive and Acute Care Physiotherapy including experience in the provision of physiotherapy to patients who are on life support systems such as ventilators, dialysis and ECMO.

4.Experience in clinical management, particularly in regard to the provision of services to client groups and in circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills. This includes the ability to apply professional knowledge and judgement when performing novel, complex or critical tasks specific to Intensive and Acute Care Physiotherapy including physiotherapy specific to patients who are on life support systems such as ventilators, dialysis and ECMO.

5.Experience in the provision of clinical supervision to physiotherapists

6. Demonstrated ability to plan, lead and implement physiotherapy services.
