Director of Business Development:

Position Summary:

The Director of Business Development, drives revenue growth by building relationships with hospitals/systems, selling temporary physician (locum) services, and leading sales strategy, focusing on C-suite engagement, market analysis, contract negotiation, and cross-functional team collaboration (recruiting, credentialing) to solve staffing shortages. Key responsibilities include pipeline generationclosing dealsmarket penetration, and team leadership

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to win new contracts, generate leads, and exceed revenue targets.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with C-level executives and decision-makers at healthcare organizations.
  • Market Expertise: Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and identify new opportunities in the locum tenens space.
  • Solution Selling: Present tailored solutions to address physician labor challenges, highlighting the company's unique value proposition.
  • Team Leadership (if applicable): Manage, mentor, and guide a team of business development representatives.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work with recruiting, compliance, and credentialing teams for seamless service delivery.
  • Pipeline & CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven success in healthcare staffing sales (5+ years often required).
  • Experience leading sales teams (2+ years).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and a drive to win.
  • Deep understanding of the locum tenens market and healthcare industry.
  • Ability to work with senior leadership and internal stakeholders
