Materials Management Technician I

As a Materials Management Technician I, you will support the Main Campus Service Center by delivering products using an automated guide vehicle (AGV) system, receiving/reconciling items at the receiving dock, issuing storeroom stock supplies using installed warehouse management, and stocking supplies on hospital floors, ORs and various clinical areas with storeroom supplies.
A caregiver in this position works 9:00pm – 5:30am.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Monitor the flow of traffic into dock areas, prioritizing deliveries to ensure the safe receipt of goods and supplies.
Upload freight, supplies, packages, and perishable items from dock facilities using materials handling equipment.
Verify accuracy of shipments, check for damage to goods, document variances of orders, and resolve incomplete deliveries and other related problems with purchasing and accounting.
Prepare goods and supplies for distribution, prioritizing deliveries, sorting and labeling loads ensuring the safe, correct and timely delivery of orders.
Properly pack and determine method of shipment to ensure timely delivery of goods for outbound shipments.
Receive storeroom stock items from shipping and receiving area, unpack and inspect items for damage, verify accuracy of shipment and input information in the warehouse management system.
Stock picking locations using the warehouse management system, either manually or utilizing materials handling equipment according to identifying information (size, style, and numbers) ensuring the safe movement of materials.
Perform a physical count of stock for inventory control verification and rotate stock to minimize loss of materials.
Survey, fill and stock nursing floors and clinical areas to maintain Par Level/Automatic Stocking Systems.
Communicate with Nurse Managers and Department designees to fill areas stocking needs and anticipate future needs.
Deliver items using necessary equipment to appropriate hospital nursing stations, unload and unpack cases, and stock designated storage areas with supplies.
Deliver supplies, packages, linen, and food from AGV Depots.
Where appropriate, obtain signature verification that supplies were received.
Handle rush storeroom orders.
Maintain cleanliness of the storeroom area.
Collect pallets from the area and stack them for pick up.
Complete and pass the Service Center certification training program for the operation of material handling power equipment and maintain the certification throughout periodic reviews. This certification must be obtained during the 90-day new hire period.
Complete three months of on-the-job training to learn locations of clinic desks, departments, delivery routes and proper operation of equipment.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of experience.
Basic knowledge of mathematics sufficient to add and subtract as required to maintain accurate logs.
Knowledge of computer systems, including barcode readers, handheld computers and printers.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Ability to operate materials handling equipment.
Thrives working at a rapid pace.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High school diploma or GED.
Experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or assembly environment.
