As a Product Engineer in the High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) Media Health (MH) team (also known as DFT, Design for Testing), you will work with Product Leads, Design, and Test Solutions Engineering to develop, deploy, optimize, and innovate test strategies for Micron's HBM products! You will act as a key interface between a variety of engineering groups and specialties, maximising a diverse range of expertise to innovate new and improved test strategies, features, and technologies!

You will have or develop guide capability with Probe, Burn, and/or ATE test code and testing techniques used to validate and ensure device performance. You will assist in debugging code and aiding other specialists in the characterization of applicable HBM devices. In this role, your additional responsibilities include an in-depth understanding of general device functionality specific to HBM products as well as schematics and signal integrity.

Among other things, you will:

  • Work with Design Engineering to run simulations pre-silicon to validate test strategies

  • Provide feedback to Design Engineering, Test Solutions Engineering, and others in Product Engineering

  • Assist in completion of the pre-silicon checklist and work with manufacturing teams to define what tester resources are required

  • Work with Test Solutions Engineering and the PE product groups to modify programs for specific product requirements or limitations to ensure that silicon performance meets expectations

  • Support Test Solutions Engineering by aiding in test program debug, data analysis, and test development

  • Support the Fabrication sites and Process Integration through test development to increase effective process feedback

  • Debug and identifying root causes for failures using data, electrical and physical analysis techniques

  • Use these techniques to modify existing testing strategies to improve quality and enhance yield

  • Monitor yields to ensure they are meeting projections and expeditiously investigate root causes when they are not

  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing and Marketing. This includes crafting and delivering presentations, participating in meetings with Fab, Design, and other teams

  • Provide technical training and expertise. This includes providing on-the-Job training for new engineers, assisting with data interpretation, acting as a product-specific point of contact and attending technical seminars

  • Support critical Micron initiatives through support of high-value-added projects

  • Improve our global team through constructive feedback

  • Support the local team by developing tools that help to improve processes

  • Innovate new, optimized test strategies and features

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Hardware experience is a must

Highly applicable skills and experience that is preferred:

  • DRAM and other memory testing experience

  • Logic IC, ASIC, or processor testing experience

  • ATE and at-speed interface and system testing experience

  • Familiarity with scan chain and loopback testing

  • Experience with Built-In Self-Test (BIST)-based testing

  • Exposure to RTL design tools and workflow

  • Understanding of semiconductor fabrication process, defectivity and marginality, and degradation mechanisms
