Position: Senior Software Engineer
Job Location: 10500 NE 8th Street, Bellevue, WA 98004
Duties: Designs, implements and deploys highly scalable, distributed and fault tolerant Spark ETL pipelines that moves big data in real time between multiple data sources supporting various formats based on business needs. Gathers business requirements and translates them into technical solutions. Builds, executes and optimizes the action plans by providing expert opinion and guidance in the data streaming applications. Develops modular and scalable code for web services. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, solution architects and QA teams, to define and implement effective solutions. Contributes to the discovery phase of small to medium projects and comes up high level designs. Conducts code reviews and ensures high code quality standards through unit and integration testing. Provides support for the production systems by participating in the on-call duties, troubleshooting the issues and performing root cause analysis on them.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Skills required: Experience designing and developing software to perform ETL operations on large data sets using tools including Apache Spark, or SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services). Experience programming in an object-oriented programming language including Java, Scala or C#. Experience writing and tuning complex queries for databases including DB2, MSSQL, Azure SQL, MongoDB or Cosmos DB. Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using an object-oriented programming language such as Java, Scala or C#. Experience with CI/CD pipelines including GitHub, Jenkins or CircleCI. Experience with Agile development methodologies including Scrum, XP, Kanban or BDD. Experience working with any cloud technologies including Azure or GCP. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $137,259/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
