About This Job

Design, build, and operate secure, observable data pipelines and models across SQL Server/SSIS/DBT/Python/Fivetran. Serve as a technical owner for critical datasets, driving standards, code quality, and DataOps practices so the pod meets service SLAs/SLOs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines and DBT models; optimize for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Own pipeline observability (dashboards, alerts, runbooks) and data quality rules mapped to SLIs/SLOs (freshness, completeness, accuracy, timeliness).
• Establish and enforce coding standards, code reviews, and secure development practices (secrets, least-privilege).
• Harden CI/CD (ADO→GitHub) and automate tests, validations, and deployments.
• Partner with BA on acceptance criteria and with Scrum Master on predictable delivery and spillover management.
• Mentor intermediate/junior engineers; lead root-cause analysis and post‑mortems; drive continuous improvement.

Outcomes & KPIs

• Meet or exceed data quality SLOs (freshness, completeness, accuracy, timeliness).
• Improve First‑Pass Quality (external QA acceptance) and reduce MTTR for in‑sprint defects.
• Increase deployment automation and reduce manual steps in CI/CD.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering with deep expertise in SQL Server, SSIS, DBT, Python; working knowledge of Fivetran and Tableau/SSRS.
• Hands‑on experience with Git‑based workflows, CI/CD, and observability in data platforms.
• Strong performance tuning, data modelling, and data governance awareness (e.g., Collibra).

• BI/Reporting: Tableau, SSRS
• DevOps/Workflow: Azure DevOps (ADO), GitHub (migration/hardening), CI/CD
• Governance: Collibra (lineage/catalog), Apigee/OutSystems (where applicable)

Work Schedule & Collaboration

• Coverage with US‑hours overlap; support releases and critical incidents within agreed SLA windows.
