GCU's Canyon Ventures offers a distinctive program aimed at educating, mentoring, and facilitating connections for startup ventures, enabling them to access the necessary relationships and resources to thrive. The Graduate Assistant role entails the professional provision of assistance and representation for the Canyon Ventures Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, specifically in the execution of administrative duties.

What you will do: 

  • Represent Canyon Ventures professionally to all business, venture applicants, visitors, and the like.

  • Prepare the Monthly Canyon Ventures Report to include; number of visitors, number of tours, number of prospective students visitors, number of active ventures, number student hires, number of GCU Alumni hire, Total number of employers per venture, Total Monthly Payroll of all staff at Canyon Ventures, Total Monthly Revenues, Onboarding Documentation Status, and any material information about the company

  • Maintain and ALL Onboarding Documents to include: Collaboration and Property Use Agreement, Standard Operating Procedures, Workplace Safety Protocols, Insurance, Background Checks, and any and all other Onboarding Documents

  • Provide Canyon Ventures tours Send thank you for visiting to all tour visitors Maintain a database of all visitors

  • Answer all incoming inquiries, and direct appropriately

  • Work on various projects assigned by faculty and staff

  • Web portal management

  • Manage, communicate with and coordinate the Founders Forum Cohorts

  • Manage and coordinate Founders Forum training events

  • Mange and coordinate Demo Day Event

  • Electronic Filing and organizing of Canyon Ventures information in CCOB drive

  • Schedule rooms for events and meetings on behalf of faculty and staff Schedule IT and AV requests when necessary

  • Schedule conference calls and meetings

  • Coordinate and assist in planning Canyon Venture events

  • Assist Canyon Ventures with research and job placement of students

  • Additional duties as assigned

What you will need:

  • CCOB student with a major and or minor in Entrepreneurial Studies.

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Must be enrolled in GCU master’s program in CCOB.

  • Must be able to maintain an academic GPA of 3.0

  • Must be available to work over Summer

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
