Job Description

The Prosthetist at MUSC Health provides comprehensive, patient-centered prosthetic care within South Carolina’s leading academic health system. This role supports MUSC’s mission to preserve and optimize human life by evaluating, designing, fabricating, fitting, and maintaining prosthetic devices for patients across the continuum of care. The Prosthetist collaborates with physicians, therapists, researchers, and learners in a multidisciplinary, academic environment that values compassion, collaboration, integrity, respect, and innovation.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Prosthetics or Orthotics & Prosthetics from an accredited program

• Completion of an NCOPE-accredited prosthetics residency

• Certified Prosthetist (CP) or CP-eligible through the American Board for Certification (ABC)

• Eligible for or holding South Carolina licensure, if applicable

• Strong clinical judgment, technical expertise, and patient communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an academic medical center or multidisciplinary rehabilitation setting

• Experience with advanced prosthetic technologies, including microprocessor-controlled components

• Interest in teaching, research collaboration, or clinical innovation
