What’s involved in this role
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment by utilizing lean practices to reduce clutter and unsafe work practices.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis for any incidents or near-misses to identify underlying causes and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
Ensure all warehouse operations comply with quality standards and procedures to maintain the integrity of products.
Train warehouse staff on best practices as directed by QA to ensure consistent quality across all operations.
Provide ongoing training to warehouse staff on various skills, including equipment operation, inventory management, and safety procedures.
Develop, implement, and maintain lean culture and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline warehouse operations and improve productivity.
Develop and manage daily schedules for warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Regularly monitor and evaluate the performance of warehouse staff to ensure they meet productivity standards.
Address performance issues promptly and effectively, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Provide constructive feedback and coaching to employees to help them improve their performance and develop their skills.
Facilitate clear and effective communication within the warehouse team to ensure everyone is informed about daily tasks, priorities, and any changes in operations.
Ensure accurate tracking and recording of inventory levels through regular cycle counts and audits.
Reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records and investigate any variances.
Utilize ERP software to track inventory movements and generate reports.
Coordinate receiving, storing, and dispatching activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Base Schedule: It is Sunday - Thursday 6 am to 2 pm.
What you need to join our team
College diploma or University degree in a related discipline;
Three to five years of supervisory experience in warehousing, preferably in the unionized food/beverage industry;
Industry related work experience, especially in production, procurement and logistics would be considered an asset;
Knowledge of quality assurance and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's);
Good computer skills including Microsoft Office are preferred;
Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership skills and the ability to work in a team environment;
Lean manufacturing/5S training;
Must be willing to work a variety of shifts including days, afternoons, and nights.
