What you'll be doing:

  • General ledger accounting and analysis

  • Reconcile all assigned balance sheet accounts monthly including bank and intercompany accounts with the aim of getting to trial balance stage for review.

  • Record daily cash receipts in the general ledger and resolve all cash receipts queries, dealing with multi-currencies and multiple entities.

  • Prepare and enter journal entries including, prepaid expenses, accrual and other month end closing entries and in Nottingham (Fixed Assets and Payroll).

  • Perform complex freight related duties including the processing of freight invoices, maintain freight database (Microsoft Access) and preparation of freight recharges for other Clario offices.

  • Set up billing information sheets from contract budgets to enable entry of new studies into the invoicing system, as well as processing any change orders.

  • Perform Accounts Receivable customer set ups in the financial systems. Nottingham includes Accounts receivable credit control and cash forecasts.

  • Peterborough - Reconcile MAS 500 accounts receivable (legacy finance system) to Microsoft AX balances with multi-currency transactions in both systems and complex inter-company transactions.

  • Prepare the EC sales list monthly (P’boro) and the monthly sales lists (Nott).

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.

  • Organize the archiving of all financial records at year end.

  • Complete special projects as requested

  • Assist with audit requests

  • Assist with developing processes and adapt current processes

  • Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports

What we look for:

  • Minimum 4 years’ accounting experience

  • Experience in a multi-currency, international environment essential

  • Good computer skills including advanced Excel and accounting software packages

  • Experience with Oracle and Microsoft Access strongly preferred

  • Previous involvement in the implementation of new IT systems desirable

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Detail oriented, highly accurate

  • Proactive, able to work on own initiative to solve complex problems

  • Adaptive, able to work in a changing environment and to meet the needs of a dynamic business

  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
