Job Summary
Directly manages all employees throughout the Production Facility. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Core Responsibilities
Oversees all aspects of production assembly, assuring smooth, efficient & safe environment for teammates.
Interviews and hires for available positions.
Oversees quality control processes, techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of finished goods.
Assists in meeting customer needs and services.
Acts as liaison with teammates for human resources, insurance/benefit questions.
Enforces policies and procedures per Owens & Minor manuals and policy handbook.
Coordinates hours and reporting of hours to temp agencies.
Has working knowledge of all positions.
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to HR for investigation and settlement.
Qualifying Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1 year of RX products experience preferred
Lean experience a plus
