Why is this role important?

We are building one of Canada’s most exciting media companies. Loblaw Media offers a unique set of assets and capabilities for planning and delivering advertising that helps consumer brands more effectively reach customers who will love their products. We use transaction-based insights from our online and bricks and mortar stores to target audiences and measure campaign effectiveness. We activate across our owned channels as well as offsite media channels.

The Business Development Account Executive will start and cultivate new relationships with new brands and agencies in our target market.  They will use prospecting strategies to identify potential customers and initiate the first outreach.     

Role Responsibilities:

  • Generating and qualifying leads
  • Cold-calling and cold-emailing qualified prospects
  • Brainstorming and executing new strategies to attract our target market
  • Work to convert losses into wins to the best of your ability
  • Maintain positive growth in your market area
  • Monitoring campaigns to ensure they are delivering in full and pacing to spend
  • Develop innovative, insight-driven campaign recommendations across Loblaw Media portfolio that will deliver ROI for customers
  • Develop and broaden high-level relationships built on trust, understand and identify contacts that manage multiple budgets
  • Serve as the product expert by educating brands and agencies on Loblaw Media’s new and existing products, as well as best practices and tailored campaign optimization
  • Prospect and penetrate organizations to drive alignment and influence executive and day-to-day contacts to execute against account plan
  • Build, manage and grow spend with key clients and agency partners by delivering solutions that are unique and meet goals

What we’re looking for:

  • A self-starter who can motivate and organize cross-functional stakeholders towards common objectives and outputs.
  • 3+ years of sales experience, preferably working with retail media
  • Demonstrable ability to understand and communicate complex subject matter or solutions for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong communicator and ability to translate insights into compelling marketing narratives
  • Solid stakeholder management skills 
  • Ability to work independently and manage through ambiguity
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite expected. Working knowledge of Confluence, JIRA, Salesforce and other collaboration tools a plus.
