KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and deliver competency-based training programs for maintenance teams working with underground mining equipment (e.g., loaders, haul trucks, drills, bolters).
- Develop training materials, manuals, and assessments aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct hands-on training in workshop and underground environments, ensuring employees gain practical experience.
- Evaluate trainee performance through theoretical and practical assessments, providing constructive feedback.
- Provide a solid framework for regular reporting on training activities and planned vs actual delivery.
- Work closely with maintenance supervisors and engineers to identify training needs and address skill gaps.
- Regularly review and update training materials based on equipment updates, new technologies, and operational feedback.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve maintenance training programs and enhance workforce competency.
- Support apprentices and new hires in their onboarding and skill development.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of engineering/ Technician level education.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in underground mining equipment maintenance, with a strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
- Experience as a trainer or mentor in a technical environment
- Experience with condition monitoring systems, telematics, and digital diagnostics tools.
- Exposure to underground mining environments and safety regulations
- Trade certification or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Heavy Equipment Maintenance (or related field).
