Summary of Job Duties:

The Credentialing Coordinator supports the Professional Staff Office functions, including: primary source verifications of expirables, outpatient ordering provider processing, practitioner status requests and terminations of credentialed and managed care practitioners; Credentials Committee agenda support; credentialing file maintenance; scanning of practitioner files; project management tasks; administrative functions related to the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Departmental Policies and Procedures; and regulatory compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR High School Diploma/GED + 4 years of general administrative experience.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains and review current licenses, DEA certifications, liability insurance, board certifications, etc., using monthly expiration reports.

  • Ensures compliance with NCQA and Joint Commission standards.

  • Conducts primary source verifications of all required credentialing components (e.g., education, licensure, training), and address any discrepancies or missing information.

  • Prepares and maintains credentialing files, scan documents, enter and update data in the ECHO credentialing database, and ensure accuracy and completeness of records.

  • Prepares files, meeting agendas, memos, and minutes for Credentials Committee reviews. Acts as administrative liaison during those committee meetings.

  • Runs scheduled reports (monthly or quarterly), analyze data, perform audit samples of credentialing files, and provide roster updates to relevant entities (e.g., Arkansas State Medical Board’s CCVS).

  • Handles general office tasks such as ordering supplies, managing correspondence, assisting visitors, covering phones, and pulling files for audits.

  • Manages tasks related to practitioner status: process outpatient ordering requests, affiliation terms, terminations, additional privilege applications, and ensure timely documentation.

  • Ensures credentialing processes strictly follow UAMS Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, departmental procedures, and regulatory standards.

  • Reviews reappointment dates and maintain compliance.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.
