About Team:
Supply Chain Technology(SCT) Data Science team at Walmart is focused on using the latest research in Machine learning, Time Series Forecasting and Computer Vision to solve business problems in supply chain process flow. We build time series forecasting models and classification algorithms for next gen use cases to empower decision-making, solve optimization problems and work with engineering team to build reference architectures and pipelines in a big data ecosystem. Advanced analytical algorithms driven by our team help Walmart to optimize supply chain operations, business practices, reduce cost and pass those benefits to our customers.
You will be contributing towards building forecasting solutions for business. You will have to collaborate with team of data scientists & business stake holders , with a common vision towards developing this for SCT.
What you will do:
As a Senior Data Scientists at Walmart , you’ll have the opportunity to
Play a key role to solve complex problems, pivotal to Walmart’s business and drive actionable insights from petabytes of data
Solve problems using world class algorithms, by researching and implementing these to production using best practices to handle scale and latency requirements
Develop/Review the production level code for implementation of statistical & forecasting algorithm
Research, learn & adapt new technologies to solve problems & improve existing solutions
Partner with team and stake holders to assess customer needs and define business questions
Adopt Wal-Mart’s quality standards and develop and recommend process standards and best practices across the retail industry
What you will bring:
Masters in Engineering/Technology or MSc with 6-9 years of relevant experience
Problem solver at heart with experience in Machine learning, Statistical modelling and Forecasting
Proficiency with Python/PySpark/BiqQuery etc
Proficiency with ML libraries sklearn/pytorch/tensorflow etc
Cloud friendliness (GCP/Azure etc) to leverage distributed computing/scalability
Working knowledge of GenAI will be a plus
Good communication/influencing/mentoring skills with inclination to high ownership and commitment
