Base salary will be in the range $117,958 - $132,247 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8)

This position plays a pivotal role in a major University‑wide initiative to modernise and unify UQ’s engagement technology ecosystem, with Salesforce at its core. The program strengthens alumni, donor, and community relationships through integrated, data‑driven capabilities that support personalised engagement, improved insights, and scalable philanthropic outcomes.
The Senior Business Analyst (Technical – Data & Integrations) will translate complex business requirements into high-quality data and integration solutions. Working across multiple University divisions and with cross-functional technical teams, this role ensures data is accurately captured, transformed, governed, and activated to support strategic program objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading and contributing to data activation initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve how data is captured, transformed, and used to support business outcomes
Translating business and technical needs into clear, detailed deliverables including user stories, data models, integration specifications, data mappings, transformation rules, and process/data flows
Supporting data quality, validation, and governance practices throughout the project lifecycle
Coordinating and supporting testing activities, including system testing, data migration validation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Planning and facilitating stakeholder workshops, interviews, and requirements‑gathering sessions across multiple University divisions
Presenting solution options and recommendations that enable informed, strategic decision‑making
Ensuring alignment with UQ standards for data governance, privacy, security, and solution architecture
Contributing to the delivery of sustainable, scalable data and integration solutions that support long‑term use

You are a senior-level analyst with strong technical and data expertise, capable of delivering scalable, high-quality solutions.
You will bring:
Postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Demonstrated experience as a senior Business Analyst on large, data‑focused implementations (e.g. Databricks, Power BI or similar platforms)
Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Proven expertise in producing high‑quality data mapping, integration specifications, and technical documentation
Experience supporting data validation, migration testing, and UAT
Ability to quickly understand complex business processes, systems, and data flows
A proactive, self‑motivated approach with the ability to work autonomously, manage ambiguity, and deliver outcomes in a dynamic program environment
