About the Role
The Associate for Patient Benefits supports patients in maximizing their healthcare benefits,
including assisting with inquiries, processing insurance claims, verifying coverage, ensuring
accurate documentation, and facilitating compliance with PhilHealth and HMO regulations. This role provides administrative support to the Team Leader and collaborates with team members to
maintain high standards of customer service and seamless delivery of patient benefits and services.
I. PATIENT BENEFITS COORDINATION AND SUPPORT
Provide clear and detailed explanations to patients about eye procedures such as insurance coverage, benefits, and any out-of-pocket expenses.
Address patient inquiries regarding insurance coverage, benefits eligibility, and claims processes.
Verify patients' medical coverage and eligibility before scheduled appointments or procedures.
Coordinate with PhilHealth to obtain necessary pre-authorizations for cataract surgery.
Assist patients in maximizing their benefits by identifying covered services and suggesting cost-effective alternatives when appropriate.
Collaborate with customer service of partner HMOs and Customer and Clinical Services departments to ensure seamless integration of patient benefits with medical services.
II. HMO AND PHILHEALTH DOCUMENTATION
Complete and submit HMO and Philhealth claim forms to Patient Benefits Finance.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims and correspondence with insurance providers.
Complies with return claims requirements from HMO and PhilHealth providers.
III. PATIENT BENEFITS ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Enter patient insurance information and benefits details into the HMO and PhilHealth tracking system.
Coordinate with the Customer Communications and Patient Relations team to align patient appointments with insurance.
Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and benefits.
Qualifications:
Must have at least completed a Bachelor’s degree in any field.
Must have at least one year of experience in HMO and Philhealth coordination
Basic knowledge in MS Excel and Google Sheets
Familiarity with basic medical terms, and HMO Processes
Knowledge of International Classification of Diseases (ICD 10) Codes
Able to focus on and manage small details to ensure accuracy.
Able to exhibit proper bedside manners.
Preferably with a certified ICD 10 coder
