Ever-increasing climate-related regulations, such as CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy), GHG (Green House Gas) and ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicles), are pushing change within the automotive industry. Automakers need to adapt their product lineup to meet these regulations, while still offering competitive, compelling products that customers want. Those that don’t will be left behind.
The Sr Analyst Planner, Regulatory Compliance will play a pivotal role as Nissan plans for its future. The road ahead is challenging, as the regulations are extremely complex, new technologies are costly, and customer demand is uncertain. This position will work with Product Planning to identify/prioritize new powertrain technologies & vehicle concepts and to evaluate their impact on Nissan’s ability to comply. The Sr Analyst Planner, Regulatory Compliance will provide NNA executives with the information they need to negotiate with NML for the resources to develop the new products that the region needs. The result is an optimized product strategy that can meet these challenging regulations, while meeting the region’s profit goals and satisfying customer needs.
Job Responsibilities
Develop strategies to help align Nissan’s future vehicle and powertrain lineup with increasing emissions standards.
Analyze the efficiency of various powertrains and emissions countermeasures in order to optimize Nissan’s vehicle lineup by balancing cost, profit, and compliance with market needs.
Provide clear data and recommendations to project teams and executive leadership to support product decisions made at Vehicle Milestones and Mid Term Plan / [V] timing.
Study and monitor industry trends through external benchmarking.
Create new tools and methodologies to analyze data and evaluate performance.
Create data visualization to translate the impact of complex regulations (ZEV, GHG, CAFE) into easy-to-understand product strategy and portfolio recommendations for executives.
Analyze compliance benefits of potential new mobility ventures.
Quantify the impact of new or potential regulation changes.
Work with EV team to maximize the regulatory benefit of EV sales.
Negotiate with other OEMs on emissions credit sales and purchases as part of Nissan’s overall compliance strategy.
Coordinate with NML and R&D to prepare annual compliance reports to government agencies. As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

Years of Experience:
Six or more years of directly related professional level experience including project management experience.
Education
A bachelor's degree in business, Engineering or a related discipline; MBA preferred.

Computer Skills:
Excellent computer skills required – extensive use of PowerPoint and Excel.
Travel Required?

Occasional day, overnight, and extended travel.
