IT Project Manager

The Role

IT Project Management Office (IT PMO) at Silicon Labs is recognized as a core function within the Office of CIO to enable the Information Technology department excel in quality and delivery. IT PMO is looking for a dynamic, engaging, and seasoned Project Manager to join the team. Reporting to the Office of CIO Leader, this role will drive project management processes and executions models on projects for our IT department. As IT Project Manager, you will get a chance to work on IT initiatives across our IT portfolio including, critical customer facing web site, on-prem and cloud infrastructure, back office applications, infrastructure services, and employee collaboration suite. Operationally, the role involves working with the project sponsor & stakeholders throughout the organization to drive definition, planning, and execution of projects that define the IT delivery roadmap.

The position is critical to achieving our goal to mature the IT organization and support Silicon Labs in its mission to build a more connected world and be the leader in IoT end node technology.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with IT Directors and stakeholders on assigned projects
• Communicate with the Steering and project teams to drive approval on scope, schedule, resources, deliverables, and cost
• Drive accurate definition and documentation of requirements, constraints, and assumptions with business point of contact to build a clear project scope
• Own the build, documentation, maintenance, communication, and update of project delivery plan including internal and external tasks needed to drive completion of project goals
• Work with external implementation vendor teams for project delivery by managing Silicon Labs resources and tasks
• Prepare and publish weekly project status reports to the project team and maintain collaboration sites to enable smooth communication across team members
• Own the delivery plan for the assigned project and ensure accurate reporting into the IT Project Portfolio on a weekly basis

• Ensure IT Governance processes and best practiced are followed and results are communicated
• Regularly monitor and analyze overall project health; take corrective actions and communicate to the project team
• Foster a positive, results-oriented, action-oriented, team-based environment

The skills you will need:

• Experience managing complex IT Infrastructure and Application projects with cross functional and globally dispersed teams
• Detailed understanding and hands-on experience in software development lifecycle and methodologies, including traditional agile and waterfall methods.
• Ability to influence, communicate effective plans, and build trust among cross-functional engineering teams and leaders
• Well versed in modern project management tools (Confluence, Jira, Planview, MS Project, etc.)

Education/ Experience:

• BSEE, BsC, or other technology-related degree

• 7+ years of industry experience in a Project or Program Management role

• PMP and CSM or equivalent agile certification

• Responsible for managing and optimizing project and portfolio management processes, including demand and capacity management for assigned programs/areas, governance, value capture, and investment decisions.
• Acts as a business lead to support projects and products while building relationships with Business Owners Contribute to developing, managing, and driving standardization and change management of planning processes, templates, and work products as applicable across Department
• Continually assesses project needs and resources to complete projects on time and within budget
• Proactively monitors and manages dependencies, risks, issues and scope, ensuring appropriate level or priority, visibility and escalation
• Ensures business readiness, testing, and acceptance of project results where necessary
• Develop, coordinate, and facilitate meetings and presentations that are tailored for all audience levels and geared towards providing executive decision support and updates on projects/ comprehensive plans Identifies evolving business needs, industry trends, and advancements; drives the Marketing department to adapt
• Supports the validation and development of business cases, success criteria, performance metrics, reporting, project charters with Business and Technology Customers
• Works with leader to align on priorities, constructively address project work, and build personal development plans

• Expert knowledge of project management best practices (e.g. PMI), processes, problem management tools and procedures required
