As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective and high-quality medication use for our patients. In this role, you’ll leverage your expertise in pharmacology to evaluate drug purposes, effects and potential interactions, ensuring that all prescribed therapies are appropriate and safe. Working within our central or inpatient pharmacy, you will focus on chart review, order verification and clinical decision-making while supporting both sterile and non-sterile compounding operations. Your attention to detail and clinical insight will help patients receive the right medications—at the right dose, frequency and time—to achieve the best possible outcomes.
A caregiver in this position will work Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered and evidence-based pharmacy and medication services.
Ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders.
Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
Provide cost-effective care.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification within 90 days of hire for Individuals administering immunizations
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within one of hire for individuals responding to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Board Certification
3-5 years of experience in a hospital setting
Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
Post-Graduate Year 2 Residency (PCY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists in a specialized pharmacy practice area

Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
Must have normal or corrected vision.
Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
