Ad Platforms is responsible for Disney’s industry-leading ad technology and products – driving advertising performance, innovation, and value in Disney’s sports, news, and entertainment content, across all media platforms.

Job Summary: We’re looking for a Sr Software Engineer I to play a key role in the support and maintenance of cloud infrastructure used by Disney’s Ad Technology application services. You’ll work hands-on with platforms like EKS, Istio, Jenkins, Spinnaker, and Terraform, helping ensure they remain reliable, secure, and performant. You’ll contribute to incident response, platform upkeep, and automation efforts while collaborating with peers across infrastructure and application teams. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in production environments and is motivated by improving the systems that power developer velocity and service reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on Platform Support: Provide direct support for production EKS workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS infrastructure.

• Infrastructure Automation: Build and maintain Terraform modules, scripts, and monitoring tools to support platform operations diagnostics, pod health, and deployment issues.

• Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Respond to issues in EKS, Istio, and CI/CD systems, supporting recovery and documenting resolution.

• Collaboration & Delivery: Partner with application and DevOps teams on shared projects, onboarding, and delivery tasks.

• Documentation & Standards: Contribute to operational runbooks, infrastructure standards, and best practices for platform reliability.

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles.

• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EKS, IAM, VPC) and supporting production environments.

• Proficiency in Kubernetes operations (preferably EKS) and infrastructure automation (Terraform).

• Experience supporting and improving CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Spinnaker.

• Experience writing scripts or automation in Python, Go, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Istio or other service mesh technologies.

• Experience with observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, or similar).

• Understanding of secure infrastructure design and operational best practices.

• Exposure to data pipeline or application workloads in distributed systems.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
